La Bernardinia Baroque Ensemble La Bernardinia Baroque Ensemble is one of the most recent additions to
Philadelphia's vibrant early music scene. Performing on copies of period
instruments, the group specializes in chamber music from 1600-1750
presenting engaging programs with an intimate and rich sonority. While the core
ensemble consists of Rainer Beckmann, recorder; Donna Fournier, viola
da gamba; and Marcia Kravis, harpsichord, guest musicians are invited
on a regular basis to explore the extensive, varied repertoire of
Baroque chamber music. During the 2009-2010 Concert Series the ensemble is joined by Clara Rottsolk, soprano; Stephen Bard, baroque oboe; and Rebecca Harris, baroque violin. The group's name itself refers
to the title of a piece by Italian composer Girolamo Frescobaldi that La Bernardinia performed on their debut program. La Bernardinia Baroque Ensemble, 2439 Brown Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130, 267-968-0645, bernardinia@comcast.net |
